GHBMC – Virtual Human Body Models for CAE Safety Analyses

In 2006, a global effort to advance crash safety technology, the Global Human Body Model Consortium (GHBMC), was founded. This international collaboration resulted in the original suite of human body models.

The creation of Elemance in 2014 helped to expand the application of the models by making the family of GHBMC models available to any researcher, whether in industry or academia.

Elemance now offers over a dozen models representing a variety of anthropometries, ages, and sexes. GHBMC-Models are available as whole body models or specific body regions that can be morphed to fit a wide range of specifications. This makes them ideal for simulating and investigating a wide variety of scenarios.

In November 2025, CDH AG acquired the rights as a reseller for the distribution and technical support of GHBMC models in Europe and Japan through a contractual agreement with Elemance, LLC.
