Modern aerospace systems, whether aeroplanes, helicopters or satellites, must meet the most extreme requirements. Consistent implementation of lightweight construction concepts is essential during development. At the same time, structural integrity and a high dynamic load capacity must be ensured, while vibrations and acoustic loads are minimised.

We support our customers with our extensive CAE expertise, using finite element analysis (FEA) to perform simulations of structural dynamics, modal analyses, random vibration calculations, acoustic simulations and transient analyses.

Structural analysis and Occupant protection

In the aerospace industry, ensuring the safety of passengers and the structural integrity of aerospace vehicles is of paramount importance. Using state-of-the-art CAE methods, we help to identify and eliminate potential weak points at an early stage.

In addition to static loads, we simulate dynamic effects that can occur during flight or in emergency scenarios. This enables a holistic view of structural loads and ensures that the design meets all safety and performance requirements.

When simulating occupant protection, we model the behaviour of passengers and crew in emergency scenarios as defined by aviation authority regulations. We simulate the effects of turbulence, emergency landings and crashes using suitable CAE methods and optimise the design of cabins, seats and restraint systems.

Vibration and acoustic analyses

Vibrations and aeroacoustic loads generate dynamic excitations that propagate through the structure as vibrations, placing stress on it and causing noise. Analysing and optimising these load cases is crucial to ensuring the structural integrity of aircraft and spacecraft, guaranteeing the required service life of components, and improving passenger comfort.

We use state-of-the-art CAE methods to investigate the effects of vibrations on all relevant components. We identify resonances and vibration modes, as well as potential sources of damage.
