CDH/OPTRAN V6.1

Dear OPTRAN user,

We are pleased to inform you that CDH/OPTRAN Version 6.1 is now available.

The latest CDH/OPTRAN release version offers the following new features and corrections:

1. Enhancements:

  • Added support for MSC Nastran 2025.1
  • Support for Element Sensitivity of 3-D solid elements including 2nd order element with mid-side nodes using ESENS commands
  • Support for dynamically requested Element Sensitivity computations
  • PSD loading now computes auto-spectrum of 1-D element forces
  • Allow CDH/OPTRAN default file to specify Element Sensitivity parameters
  • Ranking info in peak csv file – Panel name and mode number added
  • Allow specification of a single element ID on the ELFORCE request line

2. Bug-Fixes:

  • Fix for very large models (64K structure modes, 5K fluid modes) for SGPPF computations
  • Reduction in memory needed during Optran phase 1 for B2PP with FastFRS symmetric option
  • SMPF argand diagrams of type png were incorrectly scaled in case of ranking method “PROJ”

3. Supported Nastran versions and CDH Software:

MSC.Nastran
MSC Nastran Versions 2021.4, 2022.3, 2022.4, 2023.4, 2024.1, 2024.2, 2025.1

CDH Software
CDH/AMLS Version 5.3 r274
CDH/FastFRS Version 2.3 r274

RHEL/Rocky 8+

4. Cautions – end of support warnings:

  • In future releases only the latest sub-version of older Nastran releases will be supported by OPTRAN. For example, for MSC 2022.1 – 2022.4, only the latest sub-version MSC 2022.4 will officially be supported. Please upgrade to these Nastran versions accordingly.
  • This is the last OPTRAN release that officially supports MSC Nastran 2021.4 by default.
