FEMZIP-L Version 17.1.1119

Dear FEMZIP user,

We are pleased to inform you of a new FEMZIP-L release, version 17.1.1119, by SIDACT. This new FEMZIP-L version shows not only a significant acceleration in compression (x3) but also a significant acceleration in reading FEMZIP-compressed files when integrated in postprocessors (x2).

This version also supports the following new features:

• Double precision
• NBRANCH_TREE
• Beams 1D: Internal Energy
• IGEOM=2: Displacements instead of coordinates
• PENOUT & ENOUT results
• Intfor results with NENG and NPEN

Postprocessor integration of this new FEMZIP-L version has already been prepared for the most popular software tools:

  • Animator v2.7.3

FEMZIP-L version 17.1.1119 also uses a new format for parameter files, and is of course backward compatible with previous parameter file formatting as well. The new parameter file format is less sensible to formatting and does not require an initial table of contents with number of history or variables. It is therefore expected to be more advantageous, especially when parameter files need to be expanded with additional variables.
